Risk Disclosure

1. Purpose of This Statement

This Risk Disclosure Statement forms part of the Moon.com Terms of Service and explains, in plain language, the principal risks of placing Bets on the Platform. It does not describe every risk. By creating an Account, placing a Bet, or clicking “I Acknowledge” where this Statement (or a summary of it) is presented, you confirm that you have read and understood it. Capitalised terms have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.

2. What You Are Buying — And What You Are Not

Moon.com offers Bets on the price movements of Markets, including cryptocurrencies, stocks, commodities, and currencies. A Bet is a wager between you and Moon (the House). You never own, buy, sell, or take delivery of the underlying asset, and a winning Bet gives you a Payout — not a coin, share, or any other property.

THE SERVICES ARE ENTERTAINMENT PRODUCTS. THEY ARE NOT AN INVESTMENT, SAVINGS, OR WEALTH-BUILDING PRODUCT, AND NOTHING ON THE PLATFORM IS INVESTMENT, LEGAL, OR TAX ADVICE.

Moon acts as the House and is the counterparty to every Bet: when you lose, the House keeps your Wager; when you win, the House pays your Payout. Moon’s quoted prices include a House Edge — a pricing spread in the House’s favour — so Moon’s prices may differ from prices you see on exchanges or other venues.

3. Leverage Makes Bets Riskier

Bets may be placed with Leverage of 1x or greater. The higher the Leverage you select, the smaller the adverse price movement needed for your Bet to reach its Bust Price and be automatically settled as lost. At high Leverage, even routine price fluctuations — movements of a fraction of one percent — can Bust your Bet within seconds of placing it.

Your potential return may be displayed as a Multiplier of your Wager. A high potential Multiplier always means a correspondingly high probability of losing your entire Wager. There is no combination of Leverage and timing that removes this trade-off.

4. You Can Never Lose More Than Your Wager

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES CAN YOU LOSE MORE THAN YOUR WAGER. YOUR MAXIMUM LOSS ON ANY BET IS THE AMOUNT YOU COMMITTED TO IT, AND YOUR ACCOUNT BALANCE WILL NEVER GO BELOW ZERO AS A RESULT OF PLACING OR SETTLING BETS.

This protection caps your loss per Bet — it does not make Bets safe. You can still lose every Wager you place, and losses across many Bets can add up to your entire balance.

5. Automatic Settlement (Bust)

Every leveraged Bet has a Bust Price, shown before you confirm the Bet. If the Market price touches your Bust Price — even momentarily — your Bet is automatically settled as lost and your Wager is forfeited. We are not required to warn you before your Bet approaches its Bust Price, and automatic settlement may occur at a price less favourable than the last quote you saw, particularly in fast-moving or illiquid conditions.

6. Holding Fees on Open Bets

Keep a Bet open for longer than 8 hours and you may incur periodic holding fees, calculated as described in the product specifications on the Platform and charged directly from your Account balance.

HOLDING FEES ARE PAID FROM YOUR BALANCE. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH TO COVER YOUR OPEN BETS IF YOU PLAN TO KEEP THEM OPEN FOR LONGER THAN 8 HOURS — OTHERWISE YOUR BETS MAY BE CLOSED AUTOMATICALLY.

7. Market Risks

Prices of Markets can be extremely volatile and can move sharply at any time, including in response to news, economic data, exchange outages, or no identifiable cause at all. Cryptocurrency Markets operate around the clock; stock, commodity, and currency Markets may have limited hours, and where an underlying market is closed, prices can “gap” — reopening far from the last quoted level. A gap through your Bust Price will settle your Bet as lost at the reopened level, and low liquidity can make quoted prices briefly unrepresentative. Past price behaviour of any Market is not an indicator of future behaviour.

8. Pricing and Platform Risks

Moon’s quoted prices are derived from external market data and may occasionally be delayed, interrupted, or wrong. Under Section 7.3 of the Terms of Service, a Bet placed or settled at a manifestly erroneous price may be voided or adjusted — whether it won or lost — and a Bet closed or Bust as a result of an erroneous price or other Platform-related issue will not be reinstated. Knowingly betting on an obviously wrong price is prohibited and any resulting winnings are recoverable.

The Services depend on software, data feeds, blockchain networks, and internet connectivity. Outages, latency, congestion, or cyber incidents can prevent you from placing, modifying, or closing a Bet, or delay deposits and withdrawals. Blockchain transactions are generally irreversible, and funds held with Moon are not covered by any government deposit insurance or investor compensation scheme.

9. Licence and Regulatory Status

Moon International Limited operates under gaming licence no. ALSI-202601063-F12063 FI2 issued by the Gaming Board of Anjouan, Union of the Comoros. Bets offered on the Platform are entertainment products offered under that licence and are not covered by any financial-services regulation, investor protection, or compensation scheme. The regulatory treatment of products of this kind varies by country, and the Services are not offered in Prohibited Jurisdictions (see Section 3 of the Terms of Service).

10. Responsible Play

Only wager money you can afford to lose. Do not bet with borrowed money, money needed for living expenses, or to chase losses. If your betting stops feeling like entertainment, take action: you can request a Take a Break suspension (from 1 day to 3 months) or self-exclusion (from 6 months to permanent) at any time by contacting [email protected], and we can direct you to independent support organizations in your region. See Section 4.8 of the Terms of Service.

11. Fair Use

Using multiple Accounts to circumvent Wager, Bet-size, or Payout limits, betting through automation, exploiting delayed or erroneous prices, and the other practices described in Section 12 of the Terms of Service are strictly prohibited and can result in voided Bets, reclaimed winnings, and Account closure.

12. Acknowledgement

By using the Services you confirm that: (a) you have read and understood this Statement; (b) you understand that Bets are high-risk entertainment products and that you can lose your entire Wager rapidly, including through automatic settlement; (c) you understand that you can never lose more than your Wager; (d) you are acting for your own account and at your own risk; and (e) you have had the opportunity to seek independent professional advice.
